Marketing Manager
Wharton Center for Performing Arts
Wharton Center for Performing Arts, Michigan's largest and most diverse presenter of performing arts, is seeking a dynamic individual to join its marketing team.  Located on the campus of Michigan State University, Wharton Center operates four theaters and has generated state and national prominence for its success with touring megahits and sold-out sensations.
 
The marketing manager will work closely with the senior marketing manager and others to develop and implement programs to promote Wharton Center attractions and programs.  In addition to negotiating media buys and coordinating promotions with media outlets, community partners and campus collaborators, the marketing manager will facilitate outreach initiatives to underserved communities; manage marketing initiatives for Wharton Center's education programs and fundraising efforts; coordinate online customer satisfaction surveys; and serve as backup to design staff including development of promotional materials such as advertisements, brochures, and audiovisual presentations.
 
The candidate should possess a familiarity with various performing arts disciplines, especially dance, classical music and jazz; have experience collaborating with minority and underserved communities; and possess basic knowledge of research methodologies, graphic design, web page maintenance, and presentation software.  A Bachelors degree is required along with one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in sales, advertising and marketing strategies.
 
The ideal candidate is a self-motivator with ability to work both independently and collaboratively; exercise good judgment and creativity; multi-task and prioritize work accordingly to meet critical deadlines while staying on task with other assigned duties and responsibilities to complete assignments in a timely manner; listen and respond well to questions; actively participate in team discussions; write clearly, informatively, edits work; and possess the ability to interact with diverse audiences.
